Created by the Microbiological Diagnostic Unit Public Health Laboratory to automate in-silico serotyping of Salmonella enterica genome assemblies. After upstream QC and species confirmation, it harnesses the SISTR algorithm—combining curated O- and H-antigen BLAST searches with a 330-locus cgMLST distance scan against >50 k reference genomes—to generate serovar calls that conform to the Kauffmann-White scheme, then filters them with MDU-specific business logic for routine public-health use
